Learning Together: Climate Action and the New B Corp Standards

On Purpose Oregon (OPO) Board Chair, Sarah Holdeman, OPO Learning Chair, Kim Allchurch Flick,  and OPO member company MeasureMeant (Mark Odegard) led a fantastic workshop on June 17, 2026, helping local B Corps navigate the Climate Action impact topic of the new standards at Hopworks Brewing (another OPO member member company).

This is one of several workshops in partnership with B Lab that we’ll be involved with aiming to support our community in navigating the new B Corp standards. We had more than 25 local companies in attendance.

This workshop focused on allowing attendees to walk away with some tangible items to help set themselves up for success with the new standards:

  • Climate Action Governance Framework: A draft structure aligned with V2 standards.

  • Year 0 Compliance Mapping: A worksheet to navigate your immediate certification requirements in Climate Action.

  • 90-Day Roadmap: A clear, prioritized plan to move from the workshop straight into implementation for the Climate Action requirements.

One of the big takeaways was from a poll that was administered early in the day–more than 85% of companies indicated that they were either confident or very confident in meeting the requirement. This was notable because even companies that had not begun work on their Climate Action Plan felt confident (and…dare we say excited??) to put their values into practice in a way that is measurable, and public.

The next workshop will be about Stakeholder Mapping on August 19th, and we’ve also got some great programming coming later in the year for the Government Affairs and Collection Action topics. Make sure to subscribe to our On Purpose Oregon newsletter to stay in the loop.
