B Local PDX is now On Purpose Oregon

March is a time to celebrate businesses that are committed to doing good for people and the planet. During National B Corp Month, we are proud to share an important milestone in our journey.

B Local PDX is now On Purpose Oregon.

This rebrand reflects more than a new name. It signals an evolution in how we show up for Oregon’s business community and how we continue building a more inclusive, collaborative, and impact-driven economy.

Why the Change

Since 2016, B Local PDX has served as a hub for Certified B Corporations across Oregon and Southwest Washington. Through events, shared learning, and partnerships, we have helped bring together leaders committed to using business as a force for good.

That work is not changing. It is expanding.

On Purpose Oregon was created to widen the umbrella. While Certified B Corps remain at the heart of our community, we recognize that many organizations are doing meaningful, purpose-driven work without formal certification. These businesses, nonprofits, and leaders share the same core belief that profit and purpose can and should go hand in hand.

This rebrand allows us to bring more of those organizations into the conversation, creating a stronger, more connected network that can drive greater impact across the state.

What This Means for the B Corp Community

Let’s be clear. Our commitment to the B Corp movement is as strong as ever.

On Purpose Oregon will continue to serve as the official B Local chapter for Oregon. Our relationship with B Lab remains unchanged, and our support for Certified B Corps is not diminishing. In fact, this evolution strengthens our ability to elevate and amplify the work of B Corps by placing them within a broader ecosystem of purpose-driven organizations.

Oregon and Southwest Washington are home to more than 160 Certified B Corps, making this one of the most active regions in the country. That community continues to be foundational to who we are.

A Bigger Vision for Oregon

The name On Purpose Oregon reflects a simple but powerful idea. Businesses can intentionally design how they operate, grow, and show up in their communities.

This next chapter is about building an economy where that intention is the norm.

By expanding beyond a certification-based identity, we are creating space for more collaboration across industries, more shared learning, and more collective action. Whether a company is pursuing B Corp certification or simply beginning its journey toward more responsible practices, there is now a place for them in this network.

Businesses today understand that purpose and profit don’t need to be in conflict. They can reinforce each other. This rebrand positions us to help more organizations lead with intention, build meaningful partnerships, and contribute to a more equitable and sustainable economy throughout Oregon.

Built Locally, Designed for Impact

The On Purpose Oregon brand was developed in partnership with Portland-based firm Odd Notion. The identity reflects both confidence and clarity. It signals that this community is growing, that it is inclusive, and that it is here for the long term.

At its core, the brand is about action. It represents businesses that are not waiting for change but actively shaping it through the way they operate every day.

Looking Ahead

As we enter our second decade, this rebrand marks a natural progression. The foundation built as B Local PDX remains strong. The relationships, values, and momentum continue forward.

What changes is the scale of what we can do together.

On Purpose Oregon is here to connect, support, and mobilize businesses across the state that are committed to creating positive impact. Together, we can build an economy where doing good is not the exception. It is the expectation.

We are excited for what comes next and invite you to be part of it.
